(1) Novak Djokovic vs. (5) Jo-Wilfried Tsonga- Novak Djokovic has never finished better then the semi-finals in the French Open, and is looking to complete his career grandslam, if Djokovic can finally break through this year. Look for this match to be a tough one for Djokovic because of the pure athleticism of Tsonga. Tsonga has been making his way up the ATP tennis rankings, and is looking to be the spoiler of Djokovic’s possible career slam. I predict Djokovic to win in 4 sets, but it will be a grind it out match for the top seeded Djokovic.

(3) Rodger Federer vs. (9) Justin Martin Del Porto- Although Federer is no longer at that peak of his game as he was for so long, don’t look for Del Porto to cause Federer many problems. This is the furthest Del Porto has ever been in the French open and it looks as though the 16 time Slam winner will be too much for Del Porto to handle. Look for Federer to win this match in 3 straight sets.

(4) Andy Murray vs (6) David Ferrer- This should be the match up of the day with two young players trying to be the new break through player to enter the tennis world. Murray has made it to the semi-finals in his past 4 slam tournaments dating back a year ago in this same tournament. Ferrer is one the most underrated players in tennis, and this year could be the year to prove himself worthy. Look for this match to be exciting and close throughout. This is the first upset I have chosen as i believe Ferrer will win in 4 tough sets.

(2) Rafael Nadal vs (12) Nicolas Almagro- In an all Spain match look for Nadal to cruise to the semi-finals seeing as though Nadal is the king of clay. Nadal has won 6 of the last 7 French Opens, the only one he didn’t win in 2009 was due to injury in the quarter finals. Although Almagro is steadily rising in the rankings, I do not believe he will have enough to test the king. This match should be a fun one to watch because of the uncertainty of Almagro in this high stake match. I believe Nadal will win, but look for Almagro to open some eyes.
