May/Walsh Career Stats.
Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh are ranked 3rd in the FIVB beach volleyball world rankings. They have been America’s number 1 team for many years and have represented the United States in 4 Summer Olympics. The two combined to be the AVP best team 6 years in a row from 2003-2008. They had a streak of 101 won matches in a row in 18 tournaments. The two won gold in the Olympics in 2004 and 2008.
In the 2012 Summer Olypmics Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh won their first match against Australia in two sets, 21-18, 21-19. The matches were closer than expected, but the pair came out victorious in the end.
Ross/Kessy Career Stats
Jennifer Kessy and April Ross have always played second to May and Walsh, but our now trying to change people’s view of the pair. Together since 2007 the couple won are the 5th ranked team in the FIVB beach volleyball world rankings. In 2009 the pair won the AVP best team award. The two Trojans finished in 2nd in the FIVB world championships in 2011. This year is their first appearance in the Olympics
In the 2012 Summer Olympics, Kessy and Ross won their first match against Argentina in two sets, 21-11 and 21-18. The pair came out aggressive and on fire in the first set to ease their way to victory.
The only question left is in the 2012 Summer Olympics, which team will finish better?’
I believe it is Kessy and Ross turn to shine.
